Our story
Jewelry that keeps
being worn
Upretino began with a chain that should have been thrown away. It belonged to our founder's grandmother, it had snapped in three places, and every jeweler who looked at it suggested buying something new instead. She learned to solder so she would never have to hear that again.

Made in small batches
That first repair turned into ten pieces made for friends, then a market stall, then a workshop with three benches in it. We still cast in small batches, because guessing at demand is how jewelry ends up in a landfill before anyone has worn it.
Everything starts as recycled 925 sterling silver. Gold pieces are plated in 18K to a thickness that survives real life — showers you forgot to take it off for, sleeves, seatbelts, toddlers.
Built to be repaired
We would rather fix a piece than sell you a replacement. Every gold item comes with free re-plating for as long as you own it, and our bench will re-solder a broken chain even if you did not buy it from us.
It is a strange way to run a jewelry business. It is also the reason people come back with their mother's chain, their own first necklace and, once, a signet ring found in a garden.
